Arian Franz is a SoCal native who moved to NYC back in 2012. Inspired to make everyday rituals and experiences enjoyable, this graphic designer found her new calling making soap, a product she describes as easily translatable and utilitarian.
Arian’s approach for Greater Goods is simple. She focuses on taking a conceptual idea that fills a need and applying it to a special recipe. The Mechanic soap for instance, came to fruition with her friend’s occupational needs in mind. As a bike mechanic, he wanted a reliable soap that not only got rid of the grime, but also didn’t dry out his hands or irritate his psoriasis.
With each recipe, Arian has successfully been able to translate various needs into her Greater Goods soap collection. She’s taken “tactical materials that are engaging to the senses” and created a useful way to connect with people through a basic ritual.
