In this workshop, Jessica will teach you the basics of creating your very own cold-process soap. As the oldest method used to create a soap, cold process remains the front-runner in organic soap-making. In short, it is the act of saponifying water and oil to create glycerin, which is a natural humectant.
Jessica will introduce you to the fundamentals of soap making through a variety of natural components along with the numerous benefits of each. You will learn how to formulate a well balanced recipe using essential oils, clays, and herbs to create a custom blend especially for you. She will take you through a step by step process of what ingredients are a good match for your particular skin type and regimen. You will be exposed to the incredibly vast benefits of using organic, non-processed products on your skin, leaving you with enough knowledge to walk away and experiment with different formulas and variations of your own.
As a West coast native, Jessica has always had a fondness of all things deriving from nature. She has a deep passion for the art of creating with all of Mother Nature's gifts, whether that be apothecary, cooking, or pottery, she loves it all. She began making her products in December of 2008 and knew she was on to something special. A crafty hands on person by nature, her interests range far and wide but at the center of it all is natural skin care.
