MoonPi

Jennie Stone of MoonPi has perfected the craft of traditional Native American inspired gemstone jewelry. From her home studio in Los Angeles, California, Jennie channels the energies of the materials she works with into one of a kind pieces with special properties. This synergy with the earth is part of MoonPi’s environmentally friendly philosophy and respect for the natural world. She selects materials for their inherent properties, and combines them in various ways to help the wearer achieve balance.
“Sometimes I can envision and then create, whereas sometimes the particular stone dictates the design. I work predominately with silver and stones that I gravitate to, like turquoise, onyx, amber, quartz, agates, moonstones and opals. People always gravitate to different colors or shapes and I believe there is something to that. There's a reason why we have favorites; they make you feel happy. I found this interesting and started doing some research. All the metaphysical properties listed on the site are from my own research. ”
Jennie provides detailed descriptions for how each stone and metal in her beautiful pieces can work with your personality attributes and body chemistry to bring out your best, whether it’s calmness or creativity you need. Turquoise is a powerful healer, silver draws soothing and calming energy, onyx is said to relieve stress and balance male and female polarities. MoonPi pieces are judiciously assembled and thoughtfully crafted, using only local or regional materials.
“All the work is handmade. Gemstones and other attributes are individually selected and sourced from small vendors, all North American based, and our supply trips are done in bulk to reduce our environmental footprint. I like to travel and source them locally whenever I can.”
With a focus on sustainability, MoonPi aims to create the type of piece that we’ve all spent countless hours hunting vintage stores, Etsy, and fleas for but always struggle to find - that perfect turquoise and sterling ring or cuff bracelet with a western motif. Jennie’s pieces breathe new life into a classic style, and will undoubtedly be worthy of passing on one day.
